Firefox 3 RC1 planned for late May

After almost a month since the start of the code freeze for the development of Firefox 3, a post to the Mozilla DevTeam on May 10th announced that the code for Firefox 3 has been completed and the first Release Candidate version of the popular browser will be probably made public in late May.

Apple stopped auto-install of Safari on Windows

Apple decided to change strategy on delivering its browser Safari to Windows users; instead to offer it by default with the Quicktime and iTunes updates, it is now offered as choice under the “New Software” category.

Firefox 3 Release Candidate 1 almost ready

Last Tuesday, April 8th, the Firefox’s developers announced that the third version of the popular browser entered the lockdown period that will lead to the first Release Candidate version.

During this fase there will be no code modifications except only patches with explicit approval.
